BioTrain connects employers, educators, and job seekers to build the skilled biomanufacturing workforce Indiana's growing bioeconomy demands.
Delivered with NIBRT, the global leader in biomanufacturing training
Indiana's biomanufacturing sector is growing rapidly — and the workforce must grow with it. BioTrain bridges the gap between industry demand and talent supply through targeted training, stackable credentials, and direct employer partnerships.
From entry-level technicians to advanced bioprocess engineers, BioTrain's programs are designed with industry to ensure graduates are ready on day one.

BioTrain training uses curriculum licensed from NIBRT, the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training in Dublin, Ireland, and validated with industry. Heartland BioWorks is a member of NIBRT's Global Partners Program, an international network of training centers working to close the gap in skilled biomanufacturing talent. We hold the exclusive NIBRT partnership across eight Midwest states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
BioTrain helps Indiana residents start careers in biomanufacturing and helps employers build the teams they need. Whether you're new to the field, already working in it, or hiring, here's where to start.
New to the field? BioTrain offers hands-on training built on NIBRT curriculum, in partnership with Purdue University and Ivy Tech Community College. Training length and credentials depend on the role you're aiming for, and we'll help you find the right fit.
